Call for Abstract

The Nepal Epilepsy Society (NES), in collaboration with the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), is pleased to announce its biennial international meeting, HECON 2026. This event provides a global platform for clinicians, researchers, and scientists to present original work in the field of epilepsy. Selected abstracts will be featured as oral presentations or ePosters during the conference in Kathmandu, with ePosters accessible online on the society’s website. We invite abstract submissions in the following categories: Basic Mechanisms, Translational Research, Neurophysiology, Clinical Epilepsy, Neuroimaging, Comorbidities, Anti-Seizure Medications, Non-ASM/Non-Surgical Treatments, Epilepsy Surgery, Dietary Therapies, Behavior/Neuropsychology/Language, Genetics, Health Services, Neuropathology, Practice Resources, Epidemiology, Public Health, and Case Studies.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026

  • Email Subject Line: Abstract for HECON 2026
  • Abstract Length: Maximum 300 characters (abstract body only)
  • Abstract Structure: Rationale, Methods, Results, Conclusion


Author Guidelines:

  • A maximum of one abstract per presenting author per platform is permitted.
  • All co-authors must approve the abstract prior to submission.

Ethical Requirements:
– Ethical approval is mandatory for all research involving human or animal subjects.

Funding Disclosure:
– Any funding support must be clearly stated at the end of the abstract.

Notification of Acceptance:
– Authors will be notified of acceptance by July 31, 2026.

Registration:
– Conference registration is mandatory for all presenting authors.

Full submission instructions, formatting requirements, and ethical guidelines must be followed for consideration. Abstracts previously published or presented are not eligible.

To recognize excellence in epilepsy research, HECON 2026 will present the following awards, based on scientific merit, innovation, and clarity:
Best Young Investigator Award – for an outstanding oral presentation submitted by an early-career researcher (trainees under 40 years of age or within 5 years of completing training). •

Best Research Award – for the most impactful clinical research presentation in both oral and ePoster categories.
